The building is modern and sits right across from the beach, making it very comfortable and the location is great, but the mosquitoes are everywhere.

The large sea‑view room was spacious, clean, and the housekeepers were discreet and worked very well; the staff were incredibly kind and the place feels like a small, welcoming establishment that makes you feel at ease—go without hesitation! The scenery is breathtaking and the diving spots are really good, though the neighboring hotel can be noisy some evenings.

The hotel itself was lovely and the deluxe sea‑front room was very comfortable, spacious, and well‑furnished; the staff were all helpful and many spoke good English (most speak French on Nosy‑Be). Breakfast was also great. The dive centre was outstanding, with high‑quality gear, a good boat, and leadership from Aaron. However, the location on the main beach is a drawback because it gets dirty in places—discarded nappies, dog poo, etc.—and there are quite a few stray dogs. We were also hassled a lot by street vendors, which, while understandable, made us feel uncomfortable. Ambatolaka is the main spot for older European men meeting young Malagasy women. We found other beaches nicer, including the next one up—Palm—or those in the north of the island if you prefer something quieter, cleaner, and calmer.
