We liked the breakfast hall: clean, modern, and the spread was excellent – various breads, great rolls, a nice selection of meats, cheeses, and jams, plus scrambled eggs. The staff were very courteous and friendly. What we didn’t like was that we first received confirmation for a room on the first floor, then were moved to a small attic room on the second floor, room 12, which was not the worst part. The bathroom was poor: the sink had many scratches on the glazing, full of soap residue (tested with a cotton swab), and the bathroom smelled horribly of sewage as soon as we opened the door. The shower smell got worse when we opened the shower enclosure, and the exhaust fan didn’t help. It was very hot that day, so the whole room stayed in that odor. It was a real disappointment, especially since we felt comfortable on our first night. This is not meant to downplay the hotel, but since it was a quiet day we couldn’t discuss it with the manager. We would like to stay there again, just not in the same room.
