The location is in a quiet, tidy, safe part of Roodepoort. My room was on the upper floor, so I had to climb a long staircase inside the house, which was fine for me. I voluntarily swapped rooms with someone who had trouble climbing stairs, and he ended up on the ground floor with a lovely view at the back of the house. One downside is that you access the rooms through the main front door, so you walk through the homeowners’ living room. They’re nice people, though. I had already known that many guesthouses in South Africa don’t offer breakfast, so I chose places that did. I learned that breakfast is usually set out for you, but you have to handle the rest yourself. Depending on the price range, the breakfast options range from mediocre to decent, so I’d rate “At the View” as decent.
