We really liked the container setup and our small unit felt great, especially for a beach escape in summer, but we arrived during a wet and wild spell. The spot was handy for our west‑coast trip. In container 8 the fuse kept tripping and the hot water would cut out, but unit 7 worked fine. The bed was a touch short for my 6.5‑ft husband.

The privacy and seclusion were excellent, and the view from the room was lovely. I loved the room’s colours; it was a small space but everything was used well and it was fully equipped. There was no TV, but that didn’t bother me.

I adored the sound of the breakers on the beach, and my partner loved the fire pits – the location was fantastic.

The studio was cosy and comfortable, with a bed and pillows that gave me a good night’s sleep. It had everything you’d need in a small kitchen, fantastic hot water and a great shower head. The surroundings were beautiful, and hearing the roar of the Tasman Sea was very special.

We appreciated all the extra touches and the comfy bed. However, pod 7 was very close to pod 8, and pod 8 looked directly onto the deck of pod 7 – a screen would make it feel more private.
