We booked in advance, but the room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we had to wait another 30‑40 minutes while they cleaned it. If you have no choice, you can still get some rest.

The staff were warm and helpful. We were leaving early in the morning, so they arranged a takeaway breakfast and even gave us free transport to the train station—taxi trouble would have been a hassle, especially with five of us and huge backpacks. For a one‑night stay it’s a very good and safe place. In one room the bathroom had a shower head directly above the toilet, which can get messy, so we used the second bathroom instead. In the other room we couldn’t find the AC remote, but we didn’t think it was critical until the hostel turned the heating up to 11; we had to open the hallway door to cool off. One night isn’t a big issue, but for longer stays I’m sure the staff would help.

The family was very helpful and friendly, even though they didn’t speak English. Unfortunately, the cleaning fell far below European standards and was well below average for Uzbeka. We asked for fresh sheets and they kindly obliged, but the result didn’t improve: yellow stains and hair were still present. The toilet seemed unwashed before we arrived. Finally, both the room and bathroom had no windows, which wasn’t obvious from the booking info. For a place like this I would have expected to pay no more than $30, not $55.

Ali, the owner, is very kind and helpful, and he personally drove us to the station. Breakfast was good, featuring homemade Somsa from Ali’s mother. The only downside was that the double room had a small window that faced a brick wall, so it didn’t let in much light.

The breakfast was nice. The owner was especially welcoming and attentive to guests. The only missing items were a hair dryer and toilet paper.
