“Good location but quite pricey for no privacy. If you want a relaxing stay, book somewhere else.”
The spot was great—just a 20‑minute walk to the city centre. The room was decent size with a fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and TV, enough for two people for a few days. The host was friendly. However, the stay was uncomfortable, especially for the price. The BnB sits under an operating sandwich shop, so early mornings were filled with chatter from the shop owner, her friends, and customers. The small window next to our bed faced the hallway, letting us see customers (or at least their feet) picking up sandwiches—definitely not private. From the street, the glass door to the BnB was visible, and we could see people passing the shop while we got ready. In early January, we slept in our clothes each night because the radiators didn’t work, likely because the whole place still feels under construction. The first morning we were woken by construction noise downstairs. The thin walls let us hear every creak on the wooden stairs, like a bad horror film. Cleanliness was disappointing, with more dust bunnies than coffee shops in Amsterdam.
