“Was a comfortable stay!”
We were there for a Patriots game, and the hotel’s proximity to South Station was convenient. The rooms were nice, but I wish I’d had more time to stay.

The room was clean and quiet. I wish the rooms were slightly bigger; they were very narrow and didn’t offer much space.

The location was ideal for Downtown. The cleaning lady for room 1110 was absolutely lovely and very cheery, and the room was decent in size, cleaned and tidied every day. The first lady I spoke to at reception (I know her name but won’t mention it to avoid naming her) couldn’t find my booking and said she would sort it out while we waited, then she finished her shift and left—though we were an hour early, we expected people to keep us updated. The beds were a little small.

We were extremely disappointed with our recent stay at the Courtyard by Marriott in Boston, especially after having stayed at the same hotel two years ago and expecting a similar pleasant experience. The cost was excessive, roughly double what we paid previously, and neither the facilities nor the service level justified the price hike. We arrived around 2 pm, knowing check‑in was at 3 pm, so we left our luggage at reception and went to a nearby bar. When we returned at 3 pm, the room was still not ready, and we were kept waiting for another 20 minutes. The receptionist’s attitude made us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The room itself was adequate, but several expected amenities were missing: no bathrobes, no in‑room safe, and the MarriottBonvoy_Guest Wi‑Fi didn’t work on my wife’s iPhone because the login page wouldn’t load. There was no doorman or other staff to help with luggage at arrival or departure. For a hotel marketed as a four‑star establishment, the overall experience was thoroughly underwhelming. At these prices, we expected far better service and attention to guests’ needs. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated incident. Earlier that year, we had similar problems at a Marriott hotel near the NEC in Birmingham, England, where the receptionist was not only unwelcoming but hostile, and the MarriottBonvoy_Guest Wi‑Fi again failed on my wife’s iPhone. Two disappointing experiences in one year have seriously undermined our confidence in the Marriott brand, and we have decided not to choose Marriott hotels for future stays.
