Very comfortable, peaceful studio. Close to everything. It met all our needs for a pleasant stay in beautiful gardens. No issues.

“Overall we enjoyed our short stay”

A very comfortable, spacious suite with a great garden. The owners note that the unit is called Mt Dunblane, named after the nearby peak, but the official NZ Geographic Board name is actually Dumblane (just for the record). The sink access is so bad that we almost left the final wash‑up to the owners.

“This was a totally enjoyable stay and we hope to return!!”

This property is an absolute gem. The unit was beautifully furnished, very spacious, and a delightful place to stay. The owners thought of everything—towels for the hot pools, a sweet treat with coffee on arrival, power boards on each side of the very comfortable bed to charge devices, and more. The garden was magnificent. I highly recommend Marchmont Gardens as a wonderful place to stay. Absolutely nothing to complain about; I just wish we had stayed longer!

“Quiet, luxurious unit with fantastic views of lovely Alpine garden”

One of our favorite spots during our six‑week South Island trip. The unit was luxurious and well appointed, with a huge comfortable bed. The view of Jan’s beautiful alpine garden from the room, with distant mountains beyond, was fantastic. It’s very quiet and away from Hanmer village’s bustle, yet only a pleasant 15‑minute walk around the golf course to bars and restaurants. Everything was fantastic.

“A great place to relax and enjoy the locality. Peaceful and quiet.”

A warm welcome, a comfortable, clean and well‑equipped room with lovely toiletries and great facilities; the gardens were perfect for walking and reflecting. Thank you for the thoughtful hospitality – nothing was missing, everything was great.
