“Nice house but unpredictable owner, that will try to control you.”
The house was large with three bedrooms, each equipped with an air conditioner, kitchens, and a living room that only had a fan. Basic supplies like bread, eggs, and coffee were restocked each morning, letting us cook our own breakfast. The main issue was the owner: he was kind enough to pick us up from the airport but also a control freak, making the stay uncomfortable. A few garden cameras pointed at the glass‑walled living room robbed us of privacy, and the whole house’s electrical system is remotely managed—anytime we wanted AC we had to call him. The worst part was renting a car from him: he warned us about “dangerous” roads, installed a GPS, and monitored our every move. One night he claimed we were on a dangerous road—just a steep few‑kilometer stretch—yelled at us, and remotely locked our car on a busy main road. We were stuck for minutes, which felt extremely unsafe, and I almost called the police. I’d avoid any of his extra services.
