The hotel is about a 5‑minute walk from the beach. It’s run by very friendly locals, especially the manager Joseph who was always available, even at night—kudos to him. Even though the area is very quiet, security was always present, even at night, letting us sleep peacefully. Staying at Alfa really immerses you in the true Zanzibar spirit. Don’t expect resort‑level amenities (breakfast is limited but good) or flawless cleaning. Be clear when you ask for something, like room cleaning, changing linens, or a hair dryer—ask ahead and they’ll do it.
