Auberge de Jeunesse de Mons sits in Mons’ historic center, just 100 m from the Belfry and urban park. Its on‑site restaurant, bar, games room, and communal terrace offer free evening entertainment. Rooms feature hardwood floors, soundproofing, wardrobes, and private showers; some overlook a garden. Free Wi‑Fi, a bio breakfast, and proximity to Market Square and Pairi Daiza enhance the stay.

The price‑quality ratio was great, the location right under the Belfort was perfect, the twin beds were certainly a plus, the shower stream was good, and the hostel‑style breakfast buffet was very extensive. The service was quick and friendly. We had our own room at a lower price than separate beds in mixed rooms, and that seemed to be a matter of luck, because that offer isn’t always available.

The location in central Bergen is good, check‑in and check‑out were easy, and the staff were friendly. The room, sink and toilet were still dirty, and the price has risen a lot.

The kitchen area is well equipped and the layout is superb, everything is close by. I regret the lack of respect among guests in general and question the hostel’s communication policy for shared rooms. I didn’t see, as I had in other places, any mention of respect and quiet after a certain hour. I had people who came into the room drunk, made a lot of noise, vomited, turned on lights and made noise at 10 pm while others were sleeping. Even though Mons is a student town and I can understand the local festivities and noises, I won’t try this again.

The reception was very friendly, but the room was very warm.

The spot in the city center and the spacious lobby were great, and the staff were friendly. The four‑bed rooms felt cramped, especially when four people tried to fit in at once, and the air quality was awful; we couldn’t ventilate properly.
