“Für den Preis wirklich nicht besonders gut”
The location, rooms, and restaurant were good, and the staff were friendly. However, the booking never mentioned that the electricity and sometimes the water would be cut off several times a week for the whole day because of construction in the area for about six months. Other hostels had water tanks and generators, but Popoyo Loco did not, and I wasn’t informed before or at check‑in about the fixed days without power. When I pointed out that this would be useful info for the listing, they said that sometimes, unexpectedly, there is still electricity. Besides the unplanned mini‑power outages that happen several times a day (which is normal in some destinations, so that was fine), there were also the scheduled 2‑3 day periods completely without electricity (so the fridge was warm, no Wi‑Fi, only the stove worked, no lights…) and sometimes without water, which was very annoying. Additionally, the owner and her friends sat in the common areas all night (until about 5:30 am) and loudly argued and shouted.
