I proposed marriage at Sabai and it was a wonderful experience; the staff are very helpful, the food is delicious, and the place feels magical, though I think the menu options could improve.

To have your room 1 min from the beach. Almost everything. First, this is not a boutique hotel. You have a large room, but with basic equipment inside. No hot water ! No coffee machine, kettle or snacks inside. Only 2 small water bottles on arrival, which are not replaced every day, and then they charged you 14 USD the bottle. ! Service is so poor. During the day, as guest of the hotel, you dont exist. All the staff of the hotel focus on day pass travelers who come from 9.30am to 3pm, to get drunk basically !! Music is so loud during this time, it is unbearable. When these travelers leave, you are left along, all the staff disappear and you are pressured to eat early for them to close the kitchen ! You cannot use the hotel beach equipment either like their paddle as it is too late. Food is super basic and not good. Prices are way overpriced for the quality. Fish tacos were so disgusting, and breakfast was minimal. The worst, my 3 years old daughter was bitten by a street dog wandering in the hotel ! I informed the hotel management, no reaction ! Not a word ! A real disgrace !

I stayed in a beautiful spot surrounded by nature, and after 4 pm when the day‑pass guests left, it was just the four of us. The staff’s service was impeccable. The only downside was that the rooms could use a bit more modernization; although they were already very good and well equipped, a little upgrade would be nice, and I know they’re working on it.

We gave it a perfect 10. First, the place is lovely, full of nature and very quiet, ideal for relaxing. Second, the facilities are comfortable and beautiful – the pool and beach chairs were the highlights. Third, the staff were always attentive to our needs throughout our stay. Special thanks to Luis, who stayed with us, always smiling and eager to help. It was a wonderful experience and we’ll definitely return. Vicente and María. The only criticism: the menu prices are high for the portion sizes.
