“Not worth it for me for leisure and a needed break....”

The hotel was in the right spot and the staff were helpful, but I can’t believe a 4‑star Hilton doesn’t provide dressing gowns even though it has a spa, which stopped me from using the spa and relaxing in my room—my main reason for booking. When I entered the room I felt cold and couldn’t figure out the controls until someone came and set them for me. Breakfast was honestly bad: the food wasn’t covered, there were no lids, flies were around, ingredients were cheap, my son wouldn’t even eat the chocolate pancakes because they didn’t taste like chocolate, and the wellness shots had dead flies in them. For about 200 a night I was disappointed. I also woke up with a back ache; the bed springs were noticeable when I lay down. The place looked clean but wasn’t well maintained—dust on surfaces and chairs in the restaurant. No menu was in the room for room service, so I had to go down to the restaurant. The views were terrible and unlike other Hiltons. I would have preferred to book a Travel Lodge and go out for breakfast. Fish and chips were good here, but the portions were huge; I could have shared one plate for 21 pounds.

I booked this place because it’s close to Gatwick, which was a big plus. But when my family and I arrived, the room was freezing—my 1‑year‑old baby was shivering. The staff tried to fix the heating but told us it was broken. They offered to move us to another room, but it was too late because my baby was already asleep.
