The Railway Hotel Worthing

It’s a proper British pub with rooms, and the welcome was warm; the Railway Hotel in Worthing is wonderfully charming and cosy, a genuine English pub with an impressive selection of beers and drinks, and the background music is just right. You can chat, relax and soak up the vibe. The rooms hit the perfect mix of comfort and modern touches without losing character, and the food is fantastic. I had the flat‑iron steak, tender and full of flavour, served with gloriously crunchy chips, and I’d urge you to try it too. You’ll very likely meet Kat, the brains and heart of the place, who runs the hotel, restaurant and pub with real skill, and Aga, whose friendly smile will make you feel right at home. Highly recommended, with nothing to add.

The building is gorgeous, the spot is unbeatable, the staff were friendly, and the bed was amazing. The downstairs food is really good. I was stuck in a room facing the sunset during a heatwave; the window frames were locked shut except for one tiny window, so the hot air stayed trapped even though it cooled outside. A fan was there but it couldn’t vent the heat properly. The staff couldn’t fix a heatwave, but they were kind enough to give unlimited ice, which helped a bit. I hope they prepare better for future heatwaves.
