The staff always smiled and the onsen was clean; there was nothing in particular to complain about.

The open‑air bath was fantastic, the food was delicious and everything was spotless. The only snag was that moving rooms required using the stairs.

Breakfast had some interesting items and was quite good. The Kaiseki dinner that evening was amazing, and they happily accommodated my specific dietary needs. Be ready for little or no English spoken, and you’ll need a car to reach the hotel. The location is beautiful, though the building itself feels a bit “tired” and could use an upgrade. The staff were lovely and helpful. I know it was my fault, but I had imagined having a private onset in our room, which wasn’t the case; I tried the public bath but it was very uncomfortable. We attempted to upgrade, but the hotel was fully booked.
