The Bay Horse is a classic, untouched country village inn that was tidy and cozy. My room had everything I needed—a comfy bed, fresh white towels, and tea and coffee facilities. The home‑cooked meals were excellent, and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. I would have liked an earlier check‑in; having to wait until 5 pm after a long, chilly day in autumn/winter was a bit inconvenient.

This charming country pub feels like a lovely, quaint coaching inn. The home‑cooked food is amazing and the breakfast superb. Chris and Bev always greet you with a warm welcome. The bedrooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathroom is huge. It’s a very, very old coaching inn with wonky walls and creaky floorboards—nothing like a modern Premier Inn—but it has plenty of character and even a resident ghost (allegedly), giving it a wonderfully cosy vibe. I didn’t like having to leave!
