The setting is lovely and breakfast is great. The rooms lack names, numbers, locks, a minibar, a fridge or a TV. The house has no bar or restaurant, so it feels like staying in someone’s private home.

The uniqueness, history and setting are remarkable. The house and gardens are beautiful; host Svitlana was incredibly accommodating and pleasant to talk to. She made us feel very welcome, and breakfast each morning was a delight, with a beautifully set table for two in a drawing room on our own by a bay window overlooking the gardens. Nothing to dislike.

Our stay at Florence Nightingale Suites at Lea Hurst was a dreamy escape highlighted by the stunning house, sweeping views of the rolling hills and attentive care from Svitlana. We couldn't have imagined a better spot for a birthday getaway! The only issue was that a TV might have been added to the room when winding down in the evenings.

The location was simply breathtaking. Our host, Svitlana, was incredibly friendly and helpful. We all loved our stay immensely. The Wi‑fi in the rooms was almost nonexistent, but that pushed us to sit and enjoy the scenery, so it wasn’t really a bad thing.
