“Very comfortable beachfront chillout in rural Bali. Everything fabulous. Can't wait to return.”

We spent a relaxing week here with my husband and a friend, and it turned out to be the perfect beachfront retreat away from the crowds, right next to charming rural Balinese life. The restaurant was amazing—its menu still left us wanting more when we left—and the bar had a superb wine selection, which is unusual for Bali, plus plenty of cocktails and mocktails. There were plenty of sun loungers by the pool and facing the beach, and we read and swam in both the pool and the sea. We even went out pre‑dawn on a local outrigger to see dolphins, and we could book massages and other treatments. A big plus was that there was no piped musak, just the sound of the waves. The hotel only has a handful of rooms, and the staff were lovely and helpful, but also proactive and can‑do, especially Sorni and Ayu, and the chef was skilled. The photos are accurate, but they can’t capture the feel‑good vibe of the place. Everything was clean and well‑maintained, including the pool. The only thing I’d suggest improving is the breakfast: I’d have liked muesli with fresh fruit and yoghurt, and another Indonesian option like local nasi lemak.

The place is very pretty and intimate right on the sea, the staff are truly meticulous, and the food is incredibly good. I highly recommend it.

“Grossly over priced for what it is, much cheaper and better lodgings to be had elsewhere. Worst place I stayed in Bali.”

The staff are amazing and very friendly, and the food is fantastic, but the sea crashing on the shore is relentless; even closing the doors doesn’t stop the sound from permeating the room. The bathroom is open air, the shower is effectively outside, and the louvred door lets hot air from outside blow into the air‑conditioned bedroom, making the room bake hot. I tried covering the vents with towels, which helped a bit. Whoever designed this is a fool. There were also barking dogs at night.
