The room was spacious, spotless, and the owner was friendly and helpful.
The host was quick to reply, even sending us restaurant tips and a parking hint that actually worked.

“Hilltop Hideaway with Stunning Views – but a Steep Walk”
Nestled up on a hill in Veliko Tarnovo's main street, this guesthouse feels like a quiet oasis. The balcony offers a killer view, the bed is super comfy, and the place is spotless – wifi and AC worked great, and the host was on point before I even arrived, even hooking me up with a taxi for my next hop. Just a heads‑up: you gotta walk down a short set of stairs and then a steep, cobblestone stretch – cabs can't get in, so bring a bag or be ready to climb.
“Spacious & Friendly, but No Washer”
The room was spacious, spotless, and the owner was friendly and helpful. Only downside: there was no washing machine, even though it was advertised. Still a solid choice if you don't need a washer.
“Nice Beds & Directions, but No Big Terrace”
The location was fantastic and the mattresses were super comfy, plus the host gave clear directions and great restaurant recommendations. But the big terrace shown in the photos was a lie – the two‑bedroom unit only has a tiny balcony, and the stairs to the upper floor are super narrow and steep, making it a hassle to lug luggage up and down. If you’re looking for a big terrace, this place might disappoint, but otherwise the stay was solid.
“Charming Central Stay, but Kitchen Shortages”
This old‑school spot sits right in the heart of the city and feels super evocative. The room was clean and the vibe was charming, but the shared kitchen was a bit bare – not many pots or cutlery to use. All in all, a great central base if you don't mind a minimal kitchen.
“Lion's Residence: Medieval Charm with a Stunning Balcony”
We loved staying at The Lion's Residence – a historic two‑storey guest house on a cobblestone street that feels medieval yet has a modern bathroom. The balcony is the highlight, giving sweeping valley views, and the shared kitchen has the basics for breakfast or coffee; restaurants and the main street are a short walk away, though taxis can't drive down the road so you have to walk about 400 m with luggage.
