“Outstanding 🤩”
The concept is run by a very cozy and driven family, and Inger welcomed us warmly upon arrival. The whole experience is unique—from the ferry where we met sheep along the way, to the lodging spot and the story behind it.
“Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft auf Reksta”
Birdbox is an extraordinary place on Reksta island. The host is incredibly kind and immediately handled the issue when the water boiler in the main bath stopped working. Cooking and eating in the school is also remarkable. We saw sea eagles circling above us and later along the coast, an unforgettable sight. Unfortunately, the weather was bad and it rained a lot. The accommodation can’t control that, but I still have to point out the path up to Birdbox and back down is quite steep and, after the rain, slippery—so we slipped a lot the last morning. Good shoes are essential for the walk.

Meget god info og service fra vertskapet. Fikk god innføring i lokalhistorie og gode turtips. Særdeles gøy å få reise tilbake i tid i skulehuset😀. Alt var topp!
“A one of a kind experience on a beautiful island.”
We had one of the best stays ever. The location is absolutely stunning, and the cabin/house/box is unique and insanely comfortable. The schoolhouse adds value with cooking and shower facilities, and they set us up with local treats to enjoy. Reksta island offers beautiful vistas, friendly locals, and sheep. There are nice hikes around, but the best view is right outside (or inside) the box. Nothing bad to say—it was truly one‑of‑a‑kind!
