A lovely house that made us feel like locals, with Annette as a fantastic host who ensured we had everything we needed. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent, featuring a tasty fresh fruit salad. If you’re heading to Cape Town, you’ll probably need a car or Uber, since the lodge is a 15–20 minute drive from the city center.

This stay was extraordinary because host Annette has an incredible sense for guests and their well‑being, and her authentic style gives a home‑like feel. I’m not a surfer (the location is great for that crowd!), the guest house lives in that special atmosphere, the garden, the pool area, and the interior design – even as a non‑surfer I was captivated. The car parks safely (guests too :-) ) and Annette can give excellent tips to explore Cape Town even better.

The staff were friendly, even before arrival we got help via WhatsApp. The place feels like a homestay—family‑like and cozy. Unfortunately, our kids kept getting splinters in the pool area because the wood is rotting. A back bench broke, and a ladder was missing a rung that the kids used, so we were told not to use that part of the garden.

We were very pleased with the staff; they welcomed us warmly and stayed friendly and helpful throughout. The accommodation itself is highly recommended and has a very pleasant atmosphere. Being close to the beach is a big plus. The downside is that there isn’t much to do nearby, so you need a car or public transport to get around.
