What you see is what you get: simple but comfy.
We were two people with a dog. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the area right next to the water was a dream for the dog. The place was very quiet. All in all, a perfect weekend. With a large dog we slightly overestimated the barrel, but we could roam around so the dog had its own space outside.
Pleasant, quiet campsite… the train doesn’t bother! Important to mention… on hot days it’s very hot in the barrel, but it cools just as fast. We had 14 °C at night and 27 °C during the day. The roof was at the limit—almost too cold. The real nuisance was more the trailer and the cheap slabs, and the high price for the small barrel.
Staying in the barrel was an interesting experience, but overall it was rather average. The barrel was fine. Unfortunately, the campsite owner didn’t come across as particularly friendly or likable, so I didn’t feel very welcome. Overall, the stay was okay, but I probably wouldn’t book it again.
Very cramped; we had already slept in larger sleeping barrels with a small front area. Ventilation was almost impossible unless you leave the door open all night. Otherwise, a very nice campsite!
