Everything was clean and the big communal bath felt great, but the steep climb from the station was tough.

Breakfast tasted delicious, but I missed having the electric kettle and similar items I wanted.

We stayed in a family suite that had both futon and bed, so my father with foot problems was comfortable; although we had to check out at 8 am and had given up on breakfast, a staff member let us have an earlier breakfast after I asked, the food was tasty and the thoughtful gesture meant a lot, and the onsen was simply superb – next time I’ll book a package that includes dinner.
