Darjeeling Burdwan Royal Heritage Palace

Everything was perfect! The staff were incredibly kind when I fell ill for two days, and the Palace’s location and history were unexpectedly spectacular. I strongly suggest staying here.

This place has everything you could want in Darjeeling. Imagine waking up to a view of Kanchenjunga through your window while sipping locally brewed tea—no need to say more. The rooms felt like living in a museum, with over 200‑year‑old furniture and curios in every corner that keep surprising you, even after five nights; we even found a walking stick hiding a sinister‑looking dagger. The cook, trained by the Queen for 30 years, made the best pork momos I’ve ever tasted, and all vegetables were locally grown and tasted of the Himalayas. The staff, selected and trained by the Queen herself, were the nicest people I’ve met; I truly felt we were taken care of on every level. The place exudes a quiet dignity in everything.

Burdwan Palace is an experience, offering wonderful views of the Kongchengjunga from the room. Breakfast was lovingly prepared with Indian dishes and an English touch. We felt at home in this oasis with the beautiful garden, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. We would book there again immediately.
