I chose this spot because I wanted to escape everything and enjoy the peace of the countryside, and it delivered. From the terrace the view of the volcano is stunning, and if you’re on a motorcycle you’re only minutes from both the beach and the volcano. The staff were flawless; if anything went wrong, just let them know and they’ll fix it as soon as possible. On the downside, one of my friends got bitten by chiggers right after we checked in. We had booked a room for three adults, but the staff mistakenly thought we were two adults and a child, so they gave us a room that wasn’t what we expected. They offered us some pool lounge mats to use as beds, and the friend who slept on them woke up with dozens of chigger bites. Fortunately we had antihistamines, so we didn’t need to go to the hospital. This was a problem that I’m sure they’ll address in the future. The two of us who slept in the regular bed didn’t have any chigger bites.
