The place was peaceful, the people were friendly, and the traditions were nice. The forest kept mosquitoes, so we stayed away from them, haha.

“Amei estar numa casinha no meio do mato.”

The house feels like a little cabin in the woods, just a short walk from the village, and parking is easy when you drive to the village. I loved the “sapê” vibe, the damp earth smell, and the hammock on the balcony where you can relax and listen to the rain and birds. However, there’s no microwave or storage space—bags end up on the floor—and no TV, which the host says isn’t part of the plan. I stayed during the World Cup, so the lack of football coverage was a downside. Even though it’s not the host’s intention, I still think there should be an option for guests to decide whether to turn the TV on or off.

Staying at Chalé Mangueira was superb. The place is airy with a beautiful view from both the windows and the room, and there’s a lovely balcony with a table and hammock—perfect for relaxing, leisure, or eating peacefully. The kitchen is well equipped with enough utensils for everyday use, making the stay very convenient. Every detail shows care, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The location is good, and communication with the chalet manager was always clear, attentive, and efficient, which made a big difference.
