The staff were very friendly and the facilities were complete, but the walls need repainting as paint flakes off.

We booked rooms 3 and 4 downstairs; room 3 has two 4‑inch holes in the wall and a high window with no curtains, so you can’t sleep there, and a shop fronts these rooms with staff sitting outside room 4 all day.

HARIZ at reception was outstanding, making sure I was comfortable and showing me the amenities, and he recommended great spots for the night market; the location is superb, close to main landmarks. However, the front office doubles as a pottery studio/gym, making it hard to see it as an Airbnb, and if you’re new to Penang and arrive at night, finding the place can be tricky because there’s no signage.

The spot is great for food, with many options within a short walk and a mall not far away, but the room lacks furniture, offers no place for luggage, and the paint peeled off, covering everything in white dust overnight.
