Found a fantastic spot. Clean, comfy, surrounded by beautiful scenery and very peaceful. The host was friendly and everything was hassle‑free. The staff were absolutely lovely. The food? 10 out of 10—fresh, homemade on site, very varied dinner menu. Breakfast was included with plenty of options and a massive full Cumbrian spread. Nothing to dislike, honestly.

Fantastic—felt like a home away from home! We had a lovely drink at the bar in the evening, with a log‑burning fire crackling nearby. We could watch the kids play in a great den area tucked under the stairs. The room was great, the location super quiet, and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and catered to all our needs. Looking forward to staying again!

The room was a great size, the location lovely, and the food delicious. We enjoyed a hearty traditional evening meal and a very generous full English breakfast.

The building looked pretty at first glance, but the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. When we were escorted to our room, I noticed a pile of dog poop on the main path leading to the bar and told the staff; the next morning it was still there, so it never got taken out. The TV in the room was malfunctioning and nobody fixed it. The room itself needed a deep clean: cobwebs hung from the ceiling, the round top of the bath panel was dirty, black silicone was visible, and there were dog hairs on the carpet and dust everywhere around the skirting boards.
