Ostrich cottage at Les Wings private game farm

Everything was top, the environment was calm, well maintained. We really enjoyed it! Just be prepared – the nearest supermarket (15 to 20 minutes drive) closes at 1800 hours.

“Prachtig”

It was beautifully decorated, the view was stunning and, of course, the animals. We saw zebras, chamois, buffaloes and ostriches.

“Rustic little cottage, far from the maddening December crowd”

It was quiet and we loved feeding the chickens and turkeys. The hot tub offered a lovely view and a comfy lounger next to it for chilling. The bathroom is not in the same building as the bedroom. Too many bugs forced us to keep the windows closed, making the house very hot. The dirt road is rough and long; a high‑clearance vehicle is needed. No one was available to answer questions and we had to bring our own toilet paper. Huge spiders in the bathroom, so if you’re bug‑phobic like me, it’s scary. The fitted sheet didn’t fit the bed, making sleep a bit uncomfortable. The dirt road is close, so street noise can wake you. We stayed a week and would have appreciated a light cleaning and a refill of toilet paper halfway through; we ended up braving the dirt road to buy it ourselves.

“Quite and comfortable!”

Les Wings offered the best of both worlds, with the bush in the morning and afternoon dips in the nearby ocean. Inge and her family were great hosts and very accommodating. I definitely recommend it and will return! The gravel road to the property isn’t in the best shape, still manageable – slow wins the race but it felt “long” after a few days.
