The Seaview room was magnificent, with a large enclosed outdoor area that had a day bed, a semi‑outdoor shower, a coffee pod machine, and a nice goodnight gift display on the bed. The room was very well equipped. It was low season, so the restaurant that normally offers sunset views was closed and replaced by a café; the breakfast and food there were ordinary for a four‑star hotel, and prices were higher than at Koh Kood Resort. There was no happy hour because of the low season. The swimming pool was more like a domestic size pool. The beach, though beautiful, is near the river and mangroves and had sand flies—over forty bites left me unable to enjoy the beach or river. Getting to the beach requires kayaking across a bit of the river, which is fun but not for everyone. I don’t understand how an establishment can shut down important facilities and still attract guests; there was no atmosphere at all.
