I chose this place to explore the local culture and it turned out to be a perfect fit. The host was sweet and helpful and assisted with sightseeing. The location is a little away from the main market but well connected.

The accommodation is in a quiet spot, 35 minutes on foot from the metro. The owner is affable and available when needed. I liked this part of Calcutta where life moves slower. The room was somewhat damp.

The stay was peaceful outside Kolkata. Wifi was very fast, even for my online Zoom meetings. My favorite part was the host going above and beyond to coordinate my midnight airport pickup, provide a lot of help getting a local SIM card (tip: buy an eSIM from the Saily app instead of a local SIM in person), and generally give suggestions and support. The host was very flexible and kind, and the accommodations overall were nice. The beds were very firm, but I still slept well.

The owner was honest and returned the item I had left behind, but the toilet was unusable and no water came.
