The central location was great and it stayed quiet, but the toilet seat was wrong, the bidet was missing, there was almost no hot water, daylight was scarce, and the steep stairs were a challenge.

Located in Venice’s historic center, Locanda Sant’Agostin occupies a first‑floor suite of a 16th‑century building, offering spacious rooms with period furniture, wooden floors, flat‑screen satellite TV, air‑conditioning, and canal views of San Polo and Sant’Agostin. Guests enjoy a breakfast buffet beneath antique chandeliers, free public Wi‑Fi, 24‑hour reception, gondola‑ride arrangements, and a 10‑minute walk to Santa Lucia Station and the Rialto Bridge.

The location was good with nearby restaurants and a market, staff were attentive, the shower was fine, and it’s a good value if booked early. The minibar was present. The hotel needs an update; details were lacking, the blanket and sheet were old, dust was visible on the curtains, and there was no blackout to block morning light. Breakfast wasn’t worth it; better to eat elsewhere.

It was quiet at night, breakfast was included and the staff were helpful, but getting to the property required crossing multiple bridges and stairs, and there were no convenient alternatives (like a ferry) that would ease the trip back to the train station. The old building and facilities are pricey—though that’s Venice.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the entrance had a steep stair that could break your neck, the building was very small and gloomy, and a window was only 80 cm from the house in front.

Breakfast was good, but there was no view from the window.
