“Todo perfecto. Marino es un crack.”

We had to book two rooms for my three‑person family because that was the only option available through Booking. Marino managed to fit all three of us into a single room, refunding the price difference by slipping the money under the door on the day of departure, even though we hadn’t asked for it since everything was already paid via Booking. That thoughtful gesture says it all. He also gave us several bottles of cold water when we arrived on eclipse day. Everything about the hostel was great; we’ve stayed at hotels that would have liked to be like this hostel. Nothing was wrong.

“Un buen sitio de paso.”

The staff were very friendly from the moment we arrived – it’s a pleasure to deal with people like that. The only downside is that there’s no elevator. If you’re coming with a car, it’s a hassle. The walls are super thin, so the couple next to us could be heard loudly, which woke us up with their noise.

Marino was an exceptional host, very kind and generous with his recommendations and information about Cantalejo.
