The biggest problem was the shower— it dribbled and the door fell off. Otherwise, we wish the Red Lion well; the dinner we had was good and the bar staff did their best to get us what we needed. No one was present at check‑in time and we had to wait until 5 pm, perhaps because it was a rough week. We expect it to improve next time.

I was close to the Bovington tank museum and enjoyed the pub nearby.

The hotel is dog friendly, the food was good, and the staff were welcoming, but the carpets were grimy and the shower made an awful noise.

The restaurant was attractively decorated, the food very good with a varied menu, and the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful; the room was large and comfortable, and despite mixed reviews we had an excellent experience.
