“Idyllic stay in the Lakes”
We stayed in October and the whole building stayed nice and warm. The deluxe double room was spacious, homely, and offered a garden view; it had a mini fridge stocked with Abigail’s homemade treats, plus full tea and coffee facilities. The king‑size bed was comfortable, and the night was quiet and peaceful. The bathroom was a good size, with piping hot water in both the bath and shower; toiletries were provided, though we brought our own shampoo. Breakfast was delicious, featuring many options, fresh yoghurt, granola pots, and orange juice, and we also enjoyed Abigail’s cakes and baked goods, either on the spot or to take on walks. The location was perfect, tucked away off the main road between Bowness and Windermere, about a 15‑minute walk from Windermere train station and another 15 minutes into Bowness; the 599 bus stop nearby made it easy to avoid walking. Abigail and Andrew were very friendly and welcoming. We would recommend the place and can’t wait to return! The only minor note was that we normally prefer breakfast a bit later, but the 8:30‑9:30 slot worked well for our walking trips, and a later tray could be arranged if you’d rather stay in bed.
