“Terrible”
I arrived to find that the place had already been booked for a family on a private rental, so I was told I couldn’t stay.

The property literally scammed us and left us with nothing—without any notice, they took our payment and on arrival we were met with closed doors. When I reached the owner, he simply replied, “sorry, property is closed. We will refund,” and hung up. Seriously? The refund was the least of our worries; we had to find new accommodation immediately, and you can imagine the last‑minute rates on the weekend in London during Christmas.

The stay was warm and cozy. The unit was lovely and had all the facilities needed for a short or longer stay.

The bedroom was spacious, with two chairs and wardrobe space, newly carpeted and decorated, and very warm. The shared kitchen had cups, plates, a kettle, cooker, microwave, toaster, and fridge. It’s close to various takeaways and Lidl’s supermarket, and a bus stop nearby links to town. However, the “private bathroom” turned out to be a shared add‑on beyond the shared kitchen and sitting room. The “apartment” is a two‑bedroom shared ground‑floor unit, and the internal entrance door stayed open for access—fortunately no other guest was in the other bedroom that night. The upstairs apartment was occupied, and the lady knocked on our bedroom door to ask us to turn down the heating because it was too hot upstairs. There is no on‑site parking unless you have a disability permit; free street parking is available on surrounding streets, but we had to park elsewhere and walk down with our bags. No Wi‑Fi was provided, and we were told to use mobile data for the smart TV, which depended on connectivity. This was supposed to be resolved, as the host said it would be installed on Monday, 1 January 2024. We were told over the phone that breakfast would be continental with coffee, meats, etc., but we were left with a loaf of white bread, a box of cheap cornflakes and Weetabix, a quarter‑used tub of margarine, half a carton of milk, half a bottle of orange juice, and a yoghurt each. The tea and coffee came from the cupboard. The room is nice, but be aware it isn’t as private as it appears.

Communication with the owner was fantastic; he was very helpful and understanding about our missed flight and late check‑in, explaining everything clearly so we didn’t worry. The place itself was cosy and clean, and the breakfast was great in a friendly atmosphere where we could chat with other guests over coffee. I have no negative experiences with this property.
