The Pod sits a stone’s throw from Castlewellan town and is only a few minutes’ drive to Newcastle, with shops, cafés, pubs and the beach all nearby for anyone staying—partner, kids, friends, you name it. Nothing about the place disappointed me, though there was no TV or Wi‑Fi and the service in some parts of the Pod was lacking, but that didn’t really ruin the excellent experience.

The pod was self‑contained and private, but there were slugs in the shower, so I didn’t use it. The Wi‑Fi didn’t work at all, but I had enough signal to connect via data.

We stayed overnight as a family of 3 and loved it. The pod has everything you need: a double bed, sofa bed, private bathroom with shower, and a small kitchen complete with a stove and utensils. The outside patio and BBQ area are fantastic. It’s a very quiet, relaxing spot and the perfect base for exploring Newcastle and Castlewellan. Highly recommended!. Don't forget to bring your own firewood for outside BBQ or inside fireplace
