The place was spotless and situated in a great spot, but the lobby, hallway, and breakfast area felt swelteringly hot, and the breakfast spread was pretty limited.

I stayed at MainStay Suites in Knoxville, Tennessee, from August 5–8, 2026, and the experience was far below what I expected. The hotel sits in a prime spot, roughly 10 minutes from downtown Knoxville, yet the location couldn't compensate for the cleanliness problems and the poor response from management. The biggest issue happened when I got into bed and saw blood stains on the sheets. I called the front desk right away and asked for new bedding. Manager Kishore Tailor* declined, saying I wasn’t staying long enough to warrant fresh linens and that “these types of things” were normal. I found that reply totally unacceptable; the length of my stay should not affect whether a hotel supplies clean, sanitary bedding. With management ignoring the problem, I had to chase down housekeeping myself and request a change. The housekeeper removed the bedding but then returned it, re‑made the bed with the same stained sheets, which I only noticed after pulling the sheets back. What should have been a simple housekeeping glitch turned into a serious concern about the hotel’s cleanliness and quality control. The room itself had other cleanliness issues: cobwebs on the lamps, handprints on the headboard, and a stained, dirty bathroom floor. Combined with the blood‑stained bedding, it seemed the room hadn’t been properly cleaned or inspected before I arrived. On the bright side, the nighttime staff were much more accommodating and pleasant than the general management I dealt with, and I appreciated their willingness to help. Unfortunately, that kindness couldn’t redeem the overall experience.

“Front staff was friendly but the rooms were very disappointing.”

Location. The bed was squeaky and uncomfortable. We switched rooms and the second room had hair all over the bathroom floor, inside the tub and on the shower curtain. There was a cockroach on the bathroom floor
