We arrived to find the hotel under maintenance; we were charged, asked to check in online, yet the property was closed. We ended up without accommodation for ourselves and our two kids.

The setting right in the middle of the forest was fantastic. A bathroom window by the shower had no curtain or blinds. The evening meal was awkward – the waiter said he had split the last salad onto three plates because the rest of the dishes were dirty. The hotel felt like a construction site in parts.

The building’s design is interesting, with some historic elements from the late 70s, and the restaurant inside the hotel is nice; the forest setting is pretty. But the hotel felt like a construction site at times, our rooms were poorly renovated and the windows were very dirty. There were no refrigerators in the rooms, the reception staff weren’t helpful, and there were several trip hazards and sharp edges on doors and corridors. The heating didn’t get warm enough, and the price was far too high for the quality of the rooms.

The location is quiet and close to nature. Breakfast was acceptable, the staff were generally friendly and helpful, but they changed often, which caused misunderstandings and difficulties. The dinner service was friendly. However, the booking and reception organization was chaotic, and the room was only reachable through a construction site that was marketed as a benefit. The elevator was sometimes broken and there was construction noise, especially early in the morning around six. Room service was missing for two nights, and wait times at dinner were often long—up to half an hour.
