The view was exactly as shown online – that’s the only thing that lived up to the pictures. Getting there was a nightmare: the hostel sits far from the centre, up a maze of hills and stairs that felt like a trek with suitcases. Inside, the room was shabby, no air‑conditioning (just a fan), and the bathroom door wouldn’t close. With no breakfast and only a shared open‑air kitchen, we had to pack up and leave that same weekend, which was a hassle but we managed to find another place.

The spot is right on top of a hill, which can be a bit of a climb, but it’s perfect for getting to the beaches or the city centre quickly. On the last day the host called us, sounding very rude, and threatened to clear out our things because we supposedly missed the checkout time. The app said checkout was 11 am, and I hadn’t noticed it, so I was planning to leave a little after noon when the call came, and I rushed out. That attitude and lack of communication cost them a guest.

“Plutôt dormir dehors que dans cet hostel”

Nothing good to say – the room we booked had no window, was dim, damp and smelled bad, tucked right under the main staircase like a closet rather than a bedroom. The kitchen was equally disappointing: poorly equipped, dirty, and basically unusable.

Excellent bang for your buck – a lovely view, close to the little town centre, and the hill you have to climb to reach the hostel isn’t overly exhausting.

“Não indico para ninguém, se puderem procurem outra estadia”

Cris, the staff member, was genuinely friendly and helpful, which was the only bright spot. The room itself was cramped, with an old mattress, broken window that wouldn’t open and no curtains, and the whole building feels like it’s falling apart – creaky, unmaintained, and the kitchen gear is ancient and often broken. The steep, endless hill to get up to the place wasn’t mentioned at booking and makes even a short walk feel discouraging.
