The morning breakfast was solid and the lady at the desk greeted us with a big smile, plus we woke up to a sunny view that made the cold feel a bit less harsh. Unfortunately the lodge we were given was still freezing when we got there and it took more than three hours for the heating to finally kick in while it was –5 °C outside. To top it off, the entrance gate was shut when we arrived, so we had to wait for someone to let us in.

We were welcomed with genuine warmth and the staff were incredibly caring, which made the nights unusually peaceful. Breakfast was tasty and even when the power went out Doña Fresia still managed to serve us a delicious spread every day, and the lake view from the clean rooms was a real bonus. The place sits right in the middle of the archipelago, and the owner Rosario was always ready with advice or help whenever we asked.

Doña Fresia served a fantastic breakfast and the tinaja we ordered arrived at exactly the right temperature and time, though the bottom of the pot was a little slippery. The heating system worked well, keeping the room comfortable throughout our stay. Overall, a solid experience with tasty food and good warmth.

Everything from the service to the breakfast and the view was spot‑on, and Rosario and Cristian were especially friendly and attentive. We didn’t run into any problems at all, so the stay was smooth from start to finish.
