Breakfast was managed poorly; there was no proper dining area, only a makeshift setup, and the food quality was disappointing. The drinking water was bad, and they claimed to supply Bisleri packaged water even though it wasn’t. Staff seemed untrained in meeting guests’ needs. The bathroom water was dirty, and both breakfast and dinner were the worst I’ve had, with no TV available.

“Very Poor And Unsafe Stay”

My experience at Aira Residency Kotagiri was extremely disappointing and below acceptable hospitality standards. I arrived on time and my booking clearly included breakfast, yet the caretaker repeatedly demanded proof that breakfast was included, doubting the booking details and creating an unpleasant start. Cleanliness was abysmal: spider webs filled the rooms, a foul odor lingered in the washrooms, and the property looked poorly maintained. Ants, bugs, cockroaches, and other insects roamed inside and around the rooms, making the stay uncomfortable and unhygienic. Beds, towels, sheets, and blankets were old, dirty, smelly, and some linens had visible fungus stains. No hot water was available on the first day. Breakfast quality remained poor throughout the stay. On checkout day, basic items like sambar were gone, and because the cook was on leave and arrived late, breakfast was served at 9:45 AM instead of the scheduled 9:00 AM. Property maintenance was inadequate: there were no proper lights outside the rooms, on the staircase, or on the terrace, creating a dark and uncomfortable atmosphere, especially at night. The entire environment felt neglected and unwelcoming. The caretakers’ behavior and attitude were the most concerning; they showed little respect for guests and handled concerns unprofessionally, making the atmosphere feel intimidating rather than hospitable. As a family traveler, I found the property unsuitable and potentially unsafe for women, girls, and children. Overall, my stay at Aira Residency was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
