The room had charm. The whirlpool bathtub was a fabulous bonus. The balcony faced the main street of the historic quarter. I’d definitely book again. I felt a bit pressured to check in at a time that suited them.

I spent a very calm and restful night even though the hotel sits right in the historic center of Taranto.

The spot in the old town of Taranto is great, but the building itself wasn’t cleaned properly; we found a lot of hair as soon as we arrived, and the dishes were left dirty—probably from previous guests, yet if a service is offered everything should still be checked before handing over the room. On the last day, before we left, we also discovered food in the back of the fridge that must have belonged to earlier occupants.

The location in the old city of Taranto is superb, right in the beating heart of the locals, close to bars, trattorias, souvenir shops, and the whole experience is fantastic among the crowds that came for the XX Mediterranean Games. I can’t think of anything I didn’t like; everything was perfect.

The central spot and the in‑room jacuzzi are the highlights.
