“Don't book”
The refund was the only positive. Communication online was automated, so questions about check‑in were answered on arrival via WhatsApp—too late, after the transfer was already booked. After two hours of driving we reached Mount Batur village, but no one waited for us at the parking lot we were told to use, and there were no signs—just trash everywhere. The whole village looked scruffy. Our taxi driver called the host in Balinese, and we were told to follow a bumpy one‑way road to the guest house, which we did. Still no signs or someone waiting, even though we arrived exactly at 2 pm, the official check‑in time. A girl appeared at the top of the road, looking rather unhappy instead of welcoming; no one helped with our suitcases. The host or owner was nowhere to be seen. We followed the girl and were shocked by the state of the area—muddy paths, a million flies, probably from scallions grown in the garden and surrounding fields. We couldn’t move our suitcases through the mud, so we left again. I can’t believe we had planned a volcano tour with this person. We normally trust and didn’t expect such disappointment, as we went all the way to Mount Batur in vain. The host made no effort to message me to see if we were okay or to offer help. We had to find emergency accommodation for the night. When I asked for a refund since we didn’t stay overnight, the host mansplained. What unprofessional behaviour is this? Do yourself a favour and avoid this place at all costs.
