The sunny weather let us explore the area by bike, but the lodge’s position in a residential zone right next to the Zolder circuit meant we heard race noise every day of our stay, which would have been nicer in a secluded forest setting. The lodge had a kitchen but missed a proper dining table and comfortable chairs, and the terrace only got sun in the early morning, so after a day of cycling it was useless for an evening drink. We felt the price was too high for the value, especially since breakfast wasn’t included, and the pre‑departure email asked us to strip the beds, take out all trash, and hand‑wash dishes because the dishwasher cycle would delay checkout; a car was already waiting at 9:50 am to take our parking spot, so we won’t be returning.
