The location is great, just a short walk from Quinta Avenida, and driving a rental car to Tulum or cenotes is easy; the food is decent, though the specialty restaurants are fewer than at other resorts; entertainment is solid; the air conditioning works well, hot water is plentiful, and the bed is comfortable. When we checked in, the room wasn’t cleaned properly – someone had used the bathroom and didn’t flush, which was disgusting. I told the front desk, and they sent someone to inspect the room. That was fine, but I expected a credit or a small discount; instead they handed us a ceramic trinket with an apology note.

The staff were courteous, the food and drinks varied, and the nightly shows were great, but the pool water was too hot to cool off.
