We really enjoyed the hotel’s atmosphere – the staircase to the rooms goes straight through the restaurant, giving it a very homey and hospitable feel. The rooms were clean and just spacious enough. The equipment isn’t the newest, but it’s more than sufficient for a normal stay. Breakfast was good, offering a basic but entirely adequate selection. The hotel is right in the centre of the lower town, so getting anywhere was great. The only small drawback was that sometimes a strong kitchen smell would seep into the hallway and into the rooms, which wasn’t always pleasant.

Everything was great. The only minor issue was that the hotel is very noisy; on the second floor you can hear the stools moving in the bistro downstairs, but it doesn’t really bother us.

The location in the countryside is lovely. There was a small fridge in the room that was stocked, and we liked that.

The location was good. We’d appreciate a wider variety of fruit at breakfast.
