The service was excellent and the host very professional, though reaching the place by car is tough because it’s a path, not a road, and when it rained the muddy trail with two steep climbs made it hard.

Perched on a hilltop with views of the Zuurberg Mountains, Addo Dung Beetle Guest Farm lies 5 km from Addo Elephant National Park. It offers self‑catering cottages with thatched roofs, wooden decks, refrigerators, open‑air showers and flush toilets, plus air‑conditioned chalets with Lapa spaces and porcupine‑quill lamps. A garden splash pool, English breakfast, bar service and free parking complete the experience.

It was an adventurous stay, but they forgot to provide an iron.

The Bush Cabin delivered exactly what it promised: tucked away from the main resort, surrounded by nature, quiet and secluded. The self‑catering option and the beautiful surrounding landscape made it perfect for unplugging, especially listening to wildlife and natural sounds. A great spot for anyone seeking peace and nature. Overall, everything was very good and I felt completely comfortable. Just be aware that the bathrooms are outdoors and the path to the cabin can get muddy when it rains. Occasionally, heavy rain can let some water seep through the straw roof, but these are minor issues that didn’t spoil the experience. I would definitely recommend the stay.

The vistas over the orchards to the distant mountains were breathtaking, the outside shower was a nice touch, and breakfast was great. However, the chalet roof needs some TLC because water was clearly leaking along the ceiling and down the walls, staining them brown. The dirt road from the main road to the resort was awful, especially when we left in the morning and they had sprayed it, presumably to keep dust off the fruit trees.
