Located overlooking the first tee of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club, the Royal Golf Hotel offers stunning views of the course and the sea from many rooms. The Conservatory Restaurant serves local and seasonal dishes, while the Morris Bar stocks over 35 malt whiskies and wines from around the world. The hotel is near 20 golf courses and Dornoch Cathedral, a 13th-century landmark.

The location is fantastic and the staff are very pleasant, but everything feels a bit worn. A lamp in our room was broken, the wardrobe door didn’t close properly, and because our room was above the kitchen we heard a lot of extractor‑fan noise. Any hotel still using an information board on the stairs that says “HRH Prince Andrew” clearly hasn’t kept up with the times.

The room was lovely, big, and offered panoramic views of the golf course. The bathroom felt a bit dated, but that wasn’t a major issue.

Net hotel aan een golfcourse. Ruime kamer. Dichtbij het strand. Voldoende parkeergelegenheid. Goede keuken. De kamer was boven de keuken gesitueerd. Hierdoor was er een enorm lawaai en gedreun van de ventilator van vroeg in de avond tot laat en weer vanaf vroeg in de ochtend. De badkamer deur moest ook open blijven, anders klapperde die. Geklaagd, maar er was geen andere kamer beschikbaar. Er werd beloofd dat het vanaf 22 uur stil zou zijn, maar om 22.10 naar beneden om opnieuw te klagen. Daarna stil. In de ochtend weer vroeg gewekt door het lawaai. Dit is echt niet acceptabel en heeft ons verblijf volledig verpest

The location is perfect for beach and town, all within walking distance. The staff were lovely and friendly, and the dog treats, toy, and bags were a great touch. The cozy lounge area to relax with dogs was wonderful. All in all, a great stay. Nothing to complain about.
